I am a resident of Atlanta Georgia where I own a small manufacturing company called J Houston Collections.

The first eleven years of my career were in the automotive industry where I managed new car dealerships and even owned a Chrysler dealership. I dabbled in a few other fields along the way and spent the past few years managing a wholesale manufacturers rep group, representing manufacturing companies from around the world.

My true dream, however, had always been to own my own manufacturing company. I wanted to do the whole thing from design and manufacturing to selling and distribution. So, at the beginning of 2004 I finally took the leap on blind faith and made that lifelong dream a reality. J Houston Collections was founded and today we manufacture, sell and distribute a line of linen products all across the US.

I've decided to write this weblog as a way to force myself to take a fresh new look at everything around me. I've come to realize that there is an incredible world happening all around me and that just maybe I need to take a little more time to take notice and reflect upon it. My hope is that as I go through each day, this journal will make me take time to see, participate in and photograph the amazing things happening around me so that I can share them with you in this weblog.

My business requires that I spend alot of my time traveling. Those travels take me to small towns all across the southern US and to trade shows all over. I'm forever spotting something bizzare or something special that I laugh at or think about for a moment and then it's forgotten. With my computer and digital camera in tow, I'll try to document these events and share them with you on this weblog.
